Our Honeymoon

honeymoon

It took a little while, but here are some snaps from our amazing honeymoon! How do I even begin telling you how magical French Polynesia is ...
We flew from Los Angeles to Tahiti (a shorter than expected 8 hour overnight flight). Tahiti is the largest, and most "urban" of the islands, with a major port and small, winding streets full of shops, restaurants and the Marche Municipal (where you can purchase fresh fruit, fish, and my fave - Tahitian vanilla and Tiare oil (gardenias grow like weeds in these islands!).

From Tahiti, we hopped a quick flight to Moorea. This island is known for it's rich landscapes and amazing views from it's mountain tops. We took full advantage of our overwater bungalow, jumping in for a snorkel when we got too hot in the sun.

We didn't think our trip could get any better, that is, until we landed in Bora Bora. This island is truly magical. The water is by far the most ridiculous color aqua we had ever seen (so unbelievable that it matched the cover of our Frommer's travel book perfectly). We left our lodging up to our travel agent, and boy did she find us a gem in the Sofitel Bora Bora Motu Private Island. From the welcome reception with fresh gardenia leis to the french macarons left in our room each evening, the place was like the perfect trip to France (if France were a remote tropical island full of smiling people).

honeymoon
Complete with perfect 80 degree days, a heavenly mix of French food and the freshest Polynesian seafood, the turquoise lagoon and starriest night skies I have ever seen, our honeymoon was a dream come true.

Okay, I should say marrying the man of my dreams is the dream come true, but we both agreed this was the trip of a lifetime.

I could of course go on and on about every detail of our stay, but the pictures speak for themselves. If you do have questions on where to stay, eat or what to do, let me know! (I'd gladly type endlessly about this dream destination).
